RINS Spring Workshops – 2023

RINS Workshops are available statewide and held each year prior to the beginning of the field season to provide training, updates, and pertinent information for new and returning volunteers to successfully master the skills involved in monitoring nesting raptors.

Attending RINS Spring Workshops is mandatory for all new RINS volunteers. Attending the Field Training Workshop is also required for new volunteers, and highly recommended for first- and second-year volunteers. Returning volunteers need to plan on attending one Spring Workshop or the Field Training Workshop each year, and all returning volunteers are welcome to join us at the Field Training Workshop anytime.

2023 Spring Workshops will be offered on the following dates in Utah:

Spring Workshop Online – Moab/Cedar City/St. George – February 6 – Noon to 4:00 PM

Spring Workshop In-Person SLC #1 – February 25th – 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Spring Workshop In-Person SLC #2 – March 4th – 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Spring Workshop Fillmore/Richfield/Price/Vernal March 11th – Noon to 4:00 PM

Field Training Workshop Online – March 18 – Noon to 4:00 PM (required for new volunteers).
*This workshop is required for new volunteers. You will receive your assignment and Quad Notebook and receive additional hands-on-training to accomplish the fieldwork RINS volunteers perform. This workshop is great for 2nd year volunteers as well to brush up on their fieldwork skills. All returning RINS volunteers are invited to attend ANYTIME to brush up on your fieldwork skills and raptor ID skills. Plus, you are great resources for our new volunteers.

If you are visiting this page for the first time, and are interested in becoming a RINS Volunteer, or want more information about the project, use the Contact RINS form below and provide your name, email address, and any questions or comments. We will be in contact with you very soon.
